Child Safety and Working with Children Checks
We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all Children and Young People who are involved in lifesaving. Our policies and guidelines seek to address risks to child safety and to establish child safe culture and practices in line with the Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
It is everyone’s responsibility at our club to understand and comply with SLSA’s child safe policies and guidelines. All members 18 years and over must hold a valid Victorian Working with Children Check to attend club programs or training sessions, whether participating directly or simply present.
It is imperative to link your WWCC with Life Saving Victoria and Black Rock Life Saving Club. This enables the Department of Justice to contact the club in the event of any breaches of the Child Safety Act.
